Short description :
A very robust engine (issued from the Fergusson), a chassis simple, light but strong dressed with a 2 seaters body with very small doors gave birth to a famous family of roadsters: the TRIUMPH TR. The TR2 was as fast as the Austin healey in 1954 but was much more economical and cheaper. A victory at the RAC in march 1954 proved that the TR2 was reliable and could offer goo performances. The first version of the TR2 had "long" doors (covering the outer sills). In 1954, they were repplaced by "short" doors, it was much easier for opening the doors without banging the curves. The wire wheels were only offered as an option starting january 1954.

The TR2 of Beranrd Oudard

A TR2 with "short" doors, headlights sticking out (more than on the TR3), no door handles, no boot handle!
